The Day I Threw Them All Away

You guys, I finally did it.

I finally got rid of my old business cards.

It wasn’t an easy choice to make. I’d been so proud when I ordered them! They had really pretty pictures! Wasn’t it wasteful to let them go?

Earlier this week, though, I finally tossed the remaining stacks into the recycling.

Why? Because I got clear on one thing: Keeping those cards meant holding onto the past.

Those cards bore my old role of Copywriter, and they didn’t include my current role of Coach.

On some deep level, I’d been holding onto them as a way of hedging my bets. Like, “Hey, maybe if I run out of work and need to do copywriting again, I’ll be covered!”

But here’s what I realized: That’s no way to live.

Life is too precious to waste in second-guessing, self-doubt, and scarcity.

So, tell me: Can you relate?

Are you holding onto stuff from the past that doesn’t fit your vision for the future?

Are you hedging YOUR bets because you’re scared of making a mistake?

Are you longing for clarity, conviction, and a deeper sense of purpose?

If so, you have GOT to come to The Clarity Course Series!

We’re just ONE away from launch day: Monday, October 15th. The show features brand-new, never-before-seen interviews from …

  • The #2 most popular TED speaker of all time and NYT bestselling author Amy Cuddy (yes, the power posing girl!)
  • TED speaker and author Hannah Brencher
  • Olympic Gold medalist Samantha Arsenault Livingstone
  • Many more luminaries!

If you want to learn how to handle doubt, get unstuck, and live your purpose (and toss your literal or metaphorical old business cards), claim your free ticket!

Oh, and in case you were wondering: I’m all-in as a coach, and I ordered some new business cards to reflect it. 😉

Imperfectly yours,
Caroline

Hi my darling friend! I’m so excited for you! I’m in!!! Thank you sweetheart! I really need this….Brian went in for another detox and he just got back to his very depressing Renton motel. I just can’t let go of him but I feel like I’m losing me. He told me that he wasn’t drinking again and I believed him…again. Here I am Caroline….a 72 year old woman and I can’t even tell if he’s been drinking or on benzo’s! I won’t tell my Dana or John about this because they would be angry. I seem to wilt with any kind of confrontation and I’m still having hyperventilating problems. That is why I couldn’t talk to you…I all of a sudden begin to do this panic attack. Thank you and I’m going to look forward to your Clarity Course Caroline!!!

    • Gail, thank you for the encouragement – and oh, my heart goes out to you and Brian. I know how heavily his addiction weighs on you. I know it’s tough, but dear heart, you need to find support for yourself right now. These panic attacks are your “warning lights” – it’s time to take a deep look at what’s going on for you. You must reach out and connect with someone who can help. It doesn’t have to be me, of course, but it does needs to be someone, and it needs to be now. Your time is precious. YOU are precious.

If you change your mind about talking, or would like me to help you find someone to speak with, just reach out to caroline[AT]awishcomeclear[DOT]com. In the meantime, I’m sending prayers your way.

Hi Caroline! Not sure if this is the right way to leave feedback to you but I don’t have any type of social media (the pure state of introversion he he he)… Well, I just took the chance. I just wanted to tell you that I am following your Clarity Course and that I have taken so much from it! I personally was hooked with the knowledge shared by Kimberly Giles, Dan Cumberland and Misty Sansom so far. Thank you so much for arranging such course, for taking your time to preparing the interviews (I can see you have taken your time to learn about each of the interviewees’ coaching material) and making it public for those who are eager to learn and grow from others. Always grateful.

    • Maria, thank you so much for your words of encouragement! Reading that the series has resonated with you makes all the work involved totally worthwhile. I’ll also follow up via email to continue the conversation. 🙂 So grateful to hear that The Clarity Course has made a difference for you.
