Every time I start feeling stuck and unsure, I remember a woman I’ve never met.
Her name was Te-lah-nay, a Native American woman displaced during the Trail of Tears. She was forced to march from her home in Alabama all the way to Oklahoma. 500 miles, minimum.
Think about that for a second. Think about what it must have been like for her, forced to leave home and walk hundreds of miles in a direction that she never wanted to go … all because of someone else’s greedy, unjust agenda.
If anyone had an excuse for feeling stuck and victimized, it was Te-lah-nay. But that’s not what she did. Instead, what she did was … walk back.
That’s right. She walked all the way BACK from Oklahoma to Alabama. I get choked up whenever I think about it.
The reason I know about her is that there is a truly amazing monument to her near where I live now. (I’m taking my private coaching clients there on our retreat this spring.)
A Sacred Place
Tom Hendrix, Te-lah-nay’s great-great grandson, single-handedly built a massive stone wall on his property in her honor. It’s called the Wichahpi Commemorative Stone Wall, and it’s a sacred place.
There is a carefully-placed stone in the wall for every single step that Te-lah-nay took on her journey homeward. Her great-great-grandson spent 25 years stacking 8 million pounds of rock to honor her.
If that’s not PURPOSEFUL, I don’t know what is.
If you want more of that Te-lah-nay focused determination in YOUR life, then join me for Breakthrough to Purpose: How to Stop Feeling Stuck and Start Trusting Yourself.
This is a brand-new, live webinar happening tomorrow, Thursday, December 6th at 12:00 Noon Eastern Time / 11:00am Central Time / 10:00am Mountain Time / 9:00am Pacific Time.
This webinar is free, but you must register to attend.
In this 60 minute webinar, you’ll learn …
- How the word “person” itself gives us a clue to our shared purpose
- Connect to your specific purpose on all 4 levels of self (most people address only 1 or 2, so they stay stuck)
- Deal with the belief that you’re not good enough, and other negative self-talk
- I’ll also do a live Q & A session, so be sure to mark your calendar and show up live tomorrow.
I’m so excited to connect with you tomorrow! Here’s to you, and to the new world that awaits you.
Yours with gratitude,
PS – There will be a replay, but you must register in order to receive it. Plus, I’ll do a special bonus offer for those who tune in live, so make a point to be there.
