This week, I’m thrilled to feature an interview with Tammy Strobel of RowdyKittens! (Tagline: Go small, think big & be happy.) RowdyKittens is one of my favorite blogs, because Tammy shares stories of her everyday life and the challenges and joys inherent in her relationships.

Our interview focuses on how simplicity connects with cultivating stronger relationships. Tammy talks about the ways in which simplicity played a part in her caregiving journey with her mother and her stepdad, Mahlon. (And yes, Tammy met Bootsie, AWCC’s very own rowdy kitten!)

We also talk about Tammy’s new book, which launched this week to rave reviews! Be sure to check out You Can Buy Happiness (And It’s Cheap):  How One Woman Radically Simplified Her Life and How You Can Too.

Here’s a quote from the book (from my favorite chapter, entitled, “Relationships Matter, Not Things”):  “We should be treasuring our time with each other, listening and sharing more of our beautiful stories, because the time will come when we can’t tell them anymore.”

Press play to enjoy the interview!

Same here! It was both a pleasure and an honor. And my webcam is fixed now, so in the future you’ll get a better glimpse of Bootsie. 😉

    Great interview!
Really resonated with me because quality time is my love language! Let’s make the time for one another! Also, suggestions about putting cell phones away when in a gathering…tops!

Thank you so much, Mom! I’m glad to hear it resonated – and I can’t wait to talk / spend time with you this week. <3

Thank you for the interview Caroline, I really enjoyed it.
It’s good to be reminded sometimes what’s important in life and that the load of the ‘stuff’ we tend to accumulate just weigh us down. I like Tammy’s and your minimalistic aproach to life very much. I was just showing to my family the video of their ‘tiny house’ that she and her husband have billt. Boys really love the bed up high under the ceiling 🙂
Well, that will give us something to think about before the move next Spring. One thing that really made a bit difference in our family is that we are TV free for about 10 years now. I would really suggest to try it.

Metod, I’m so glad you liked it! And how exciting that you’ll be moving, too – there’s nothing like a move to make a family take stock of what matters most, both in terms of belongings and in terms of quality of life.

And I second your comment on TV – I’ll watch specific shows on the computer, but we don’t have a TV, either. 🙂
